There’s a much longer discussion to be had here on how racism (not speciesism) as it applies to dogs, how claims about “breeding” are also applied to people, and how class also plays a role. A German Shepherd owned by, say, Joe Biden that bites someone is going viewed differently than any pitbull terrier barking behind a chainlink fence.

But in lieu of that, just remember that it is absolutely, literally true that under white supremacy, many dogs are held to be more precious than Black people.

So if you’re a white person who already knows that, would anyone know solely from your behavior that you know it or, more importantly, that you actually care?
