We need to talk about how cities will have to re-orient our infrastructure around community agriculture and animal husbandry, incorporating the knowledge that many immigrant groups and the poorest rural people already have.

As it is, our food comes from far away, is produced at the expense of future generations, and billions of animals are tortured every hour of every day until their deaths for everything from meat to just products like milk or eggs.

There’s a lot of overlap between those who worship “a sky daddy” and those who worship The Great Invisible Hand, but let’s be clear: it’s the latter superstition that is destroying the world, and has destroyed it.
