Originally, The Satanic Temple was quite different

Religious Beliefs of The Satanic Temple The Satanic Temple believes that God is supernatural and thus outside of the sphere of the physical. God’s perfection means that he cannot interact with the imperfect corporeal realm. Because God cannot intervene in the material world, He created Satan to preside over the universe as His proxy. Satan […]

You need to understand why things are harmful

Tumblr @dilfgirlI’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: it’s more important to know and understand fully why something is harmful than it is to drop everything deemed problematic. It’s performative and does nothing. People wonder why nobody has critical thinking skills and this is part of it because no one knows how to […]

Tumblr @dilfgirl I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: it’s more important to know and understand fully why something is harmful than it is to drop everything deemed problematic. It’s performative and does nothing. People wonder why nobody has critical thinking skills and this is part of it because no one knows how to [simultaneously] critique and consume media. You need to use discernment. This is ultimately why propaganda is going to work on you. Because you never learned how to think for yourself and the actual ideology behind things. You simply rely on group think and the bare minimum explanations to tell you what’s good and bad.

Where does The Satanic Temple stand on Israel?

TST members have lots of opinions on Palestine, but the Temple’s co-owner Cevin Soling is a Zionist, and his is the opinion that matters As Israel continues aggressively expanding and deepening its apartheid state, destroying Palestinian homes, killing children, and letting lynch mobs run through the streets in the name of self-defense, you may wonder […]

“People have the right to resist annihilation”

It’s really important for people, including Satanists, to understand that while non-violent tactics may be all you’re prepared to do, non-violence is not a real option when your adversary is a state committed to doing violence to you. Capital Area Satanists recently did a book study of This Nonviolent Stuff’ll Get You Killed: How Guns Made […]

@nuhhhnsense > Colonized people have the right to resist settler-colonialism no matter when it started, 1492 or 1948. Our siblings around the world cannot afford political theater and we cannot demand it of them. When bombs drop on Israel today, it is Palestinians resisting annihilation.

Asexuality is part of the queer community

Asexuality is part of the queer community. Unfortunately, one of the many things it shares with the rest of the queer community is our tendency to make whiteness default and ignore the ways that intersectionality complicates and stacks additional challenges on BIPOC queer people. There is a strain of gatekeeping who will say that asexual […]

AI and AM versus FM technology

It is really important to be able to spot the difference between AM versus FM technology, particularly when it comes to their promises. Actual Machine (AM) technology involves a lot of well-understood costs & challenges. It’s usually not very exciting. The solutions offered are quite obvious. Example: How do we lower traffic fatalities and provide […]

Tumblr @danshive In science fiction, AIs tend to malfunction due to some technicality of logic, such as that business with the laws of robotics and an AI reaching a dramatic, ironic conclusion. Content regulation algorithms tell me that sci-fi authors are overly generous in these depictions. “Why did cop bot arrest that nice elderly woman?” “It insists she’s the mafia.” “It thinks she’s in the mafia?” “No. It thinks she’s an entire crime family. It filled out paperwork for multiple separate arrests after bringing her in.”

White supremacy and white victimhood

Rightfully, liberals find it very easy to notice (and laugh at) conservatives when they utilize slave imagery or yellow stars to compare themselves to persecuted Jewish people before and during the Shoah — particularly for such things as haircuts or mask-wearing during a deadly pandemic. But the desire to cosplay as victims of one sort […]

Nine miles south, the residents of Englewood, which is nearly 95% Black, have a life expectancy of 60. Journalist […]

Cultural Christianity and anti-theists
